Design objective

To create a beautiful garden for a client who loves beautiful gardens, blending modernistic style with tradition, complementing the recent major building works which transformed the house into a stunning property, now we were told to make a garden to match.

Project build phase

This extensive scheme was scheduled over 6 months covering every inch of its 2 acre footprint, securing the property with boundary structures, forming new hardscape areas including new terraces, a walled kitchen garden, linked paths, and a large in/out driveway all formed with either riven york flags or granite which formed the core of the hardscape palette.

A 35m natural stream and multi tiered 2m x 7m warterfall into a natural rock pool were a challenge, formed with 50 tonnes of york rock stone, weighing up to 1000kg each, all delicately formed on a 0.75mm thick butyl liner that serves its purpose however is not to be seen.

A large rock garden retained the higher soil levels around the conservatory surroundings and as importantly create the beautiful outlook from the indoor space. A very challenging build with many gradients, level changes and large existing trees finally was conquered to the delight of our clients.
