Design objective

To create a beautiful low maintenace garden for plant loving clients who do not have time to devote to the garden with their hardworking careers.

The rear garden was transformed from a square interest lacking patch of grass benefiting from its only asset, the view over the swale estuary, the side area was burdened by a shaded bank, previously laid to lawn yet unpassable. Therefore we introduced a cranked hardwood decked terrace with built in benching, enjoying the amazing views to the rear, a reeded hut to provide all weather dining for our fresh air loving clients, a hot planting scheme of red/orange/yellow summer perrenials in the sunny part, and a large leafed shade loving scheme to furnish the new rock garden walkway.

Project build phase

Another steep gradient formed the a difficult and space confined access for our equipment, we got in, worked out, the furthest away first, the closest last.

Our groundwork team laid the bases, our carpentery craftsmen formed the large crank deck and reeded hut, then the softscape phase furnished the rear garden with its new planting scheme whilst the rock garden was being formed as the machinery worked its way out.

Once the heavy weight rocks were in place, we planted the rock garden and laid the mixed shail mulches to suppress future weed growth. 3 weeks in, we were out, our clients were in the hut enjoying a chilled bottle of white in the summer's evening.
